I have been writing on Bollywood and other cinemas (including Hollywood) for sometime now. Like most Indians, I too grew up watching Hindi films. So, Bollywood has played a great role in shaping the emotional and psychological landscape of my inner world.

When I started writing on Bollywood, it was more from a point of view of appreciation of Bollywood (Hindi films) within its own universe and on its own terms. Perhaps I was not as critical of Bollywood then as I am now.

In this blog, I will publish and archive my previous articles on Bollywood that have appeared in a variety of places and today might not be easily available. It’s not that they are very significant or seminal but they are important for me as they record my own understanding of Bollywood (and other cinemas) as well as throw light on the recent history of Bollywood.

In this blog, the focus of any fresh article will be on the writing and directorial aspects of Hindi films. If you love Hindi films like I do, or write or want to write for Hindi films, you are most welcome to comment and discuss issues with me.
